Container Shipping Regulatory Compliance
Maritime Cybersecurity Assessment for Container Line
CyberSea Defence conducted comprehensive OT/IT security assessments across 45 container vessels, achieving IMO 2021 compliance.
A top-10 global container shipping line needed to achieve compliance with IMO Resolution MSC.428(98) on maritime cyber risk management across their fleet of 45 vessels and shore-based operations.
CyberSea Defence developed a phased assessment program covering bridge systems, engine room automation, cargo systems, and administrative networks on representative vessel types. Our team identified critical vulnerabilities in legacy navigation equipment and developed practical remediation strategies.
Key deliverables included fleet-wide cybersecurity risk assessments, updated SMS documentation, crew training programs, and an incident response plan. The project achieved full flag state compliance before the January 2021 deadline.
